From copra to a clear, golden oil.
Every Kalpasree pack comes off one certified line at Ukkens Copra Centre & Oil Mills in Thrissur district. This is what happens between the copra arriving and the cap going on.

Six steps, no shortcuts.
- 01
Superior copra, fully sun-dried
Only superior-quality, selected copra goes into a Kalpasree press, and it is fully sun-dried first. Dry copra means a clean, stable oil that keeps its aroma.
- 02
Roasted for aroma
The copra is gently roasted before crushing, which gives Kalpasree its distinctive, sweet, appealing smell: the aroma Kerala cooking is built on.
- 03
Crushed at 20 tons a day
The mill crushes up to 20 tons of copra a day on advanced, electronically controlled machinery. No solvents, nothing added.
- 04
Micro-filtered
The oil is micro-filtered to remove the finest suspended particles, so it stays clear and clean in the pan and on the shelf.
- 05
Tested in the mill laboratory
Modern laboratory facilities and expert personnel check every batch for stability and reliability before it is cleared for packing.
- 06
Packed at 12 tons a day
Automatic bottling and pouch-filling machines seal the oil leak-proof and tamper-proof, batch-coded and dated, keeping the aroma and flavour locked in.

What we test before a batch is cleared.
Coconut oil has a narrow, well-defined chemistry. That makes it easy to prove genuine, and easy to catch when it is not. The mill’s laboratory and expert personnel check every batch against the standards for edible coconut oil, for stability and reliability.
Batch test reports are available to distributors and institutional buyers on request.
Request a batch reportFree fatty acids (FFA)
Low FFA means fresh, properly dried copra and oil that will keep.
Moisture and volatile matter
Moisture shortens shelf life and spoils flavour. We keep it low.
Iodine value
A signature of genuine coconut oil; other oils fall outside its narrow range.
Saponification value
Another fingerprint of coconut oil, confirming the fatty-acid profile.
Peroxide value
Tracks oxidation, so we know the oil has not started to turn.
Argemone oil test
Confirms the declaration on every pack: free from argemone oil.
Colour and clarity
The visual check that micro-filtration did its job.
Odour and taste
Kalpasree should smell roasted, sweet and clean. Every batch is checked.
