Kalpasree coconut oil
Our story

It started with a mill, and a promise.

A coconut oil mill at Edakulam, Irinjalakuda, since 1976, in the heart of Kerala's coconut country. A brand launched in 2000 to put pure, roasted coconut oil into honest, hygienic consumer packs. That is still the whole plan.

Some standards are not simply set. They are carried forward.

That was the standard Ukkens Copra Centre & Oil Mills was founded to meet.

In Edakulam, Irinjalakuda, in Thrissur district, where copra was plentiful and close at hand, Shri U.A. Pappachan set up the mill in 1976 with a simple purpose: to make coconut oil.

It was a modest beginning, rooted in the abundance of the coconut and the needs of the people around it.

Then came 2000.

The mill launched Kalpasree Coconut Oil, introducing a premium roasted, micro-filtered coconut oil to the edible-oil consumer-pack segment. Made from superior-quality, fully sun-dried selected copra and hygienically packed to preserve its distinctive, sweet aroma, Kalpasree soon became a household name across Kerala.

What began in Edakulam did not remain there.

From Southern India, Kalpasree travelled to central, eastern and northern India, and onward to prominent Far-East countries, where the brand holds a significant market share. The mill grew with it — becoming an ISO 22000:2018 company with FSSAI approval, with the capacity to crush 20 tons of copra and pack 12 tons of oil a day through automatic bottling and pouch-filling lines.

But growth never meant leaving behind what mattered at the beginning.

Because for us, trust is not just something a brand asks for. It is something a brand puts on the pack.

It is a small line on the label, and it is the reason the brand exists. Everything else on this site is how we keep it true.
